Welcoming Adelina Iftene to the Robson Crim team!
It's been a season of many gifts for us at Robson Crim as we endeavour to strengthen our blawg offerings and expand our peer-review board for the Robson Crim Edition of the Manitoba Law Journal. We welcome Adelina Iftine to the team. Read more about her below. Robson Crim has collaborators from coast to coast and we hope you enjoy the season and what the new year holds.
Professor Iftene’s research is highly interdisciplinary and aims at answering questions arising in the area of criminal justice by utilizing empirical social science (both quantitative and qualitative), as well as legal comparative, feminist, and doctrinal methodologies.
She has researched the aging of the federal prison population and its legal consequences.
She is also undertaking major research projects investigating issues surrounding the sentencing of older individuals and historic crimes, reform of parole boards in Canada, and the identification of the civil legal needs of prisoners.
Her work is informed by her students, as well as the stories of the incarcerated individuals she encounters, both as a researcher and as a prison volunteer.
